commissioned for the 22nd international feminist and queer festival red dawns, Ljubljana (SLV)

Developed during the pandemic, this performance questions and criticises how quality and value of (artistic) material are constituted and instituted in the global north, and the technical conditions for showing artistic work (e.g. skills and devices to film, record, edit, process, as well as a stable internet connection). For this work, I re-adapted a set of songs and poems into three set-ups I had access to: at home, in the forest, and alone in the institute. Each part was recorded with the technical means available in the spaces. ‘Da geht die Sonne unter!’ proposes an empowerment through deviation, and comments playfully on a suddenly exposed neoliberal, capitalistic, and colonial mindset. Our resources are not infinite!
